“That’s what Christmas is all about…”

In the classic Charlie Brown TV special, Linus knew the real meaning of Christmas was found at the scene of Jesus’ birth. For nearly 25 years, UMCW has re-enacted this holy scene with our Live Nativity, complete with a stable, manger, live animals, Christmas music, snacks and hot cider.

UMCW held its annual Harvest Supper on Saturday, November 7.  This wonderful traditional turkey dinner featured all the fixin’s, ending with delicious assorted apple pies, as UMCW welcomed in the beginning of the holiday season.

UMCW was the scene of an evening of spectacular choir singing as we celebrated 30 years of the UMCW choirs on October 17.  The concert featured our adult, youth and handbell choirs as well as special instrumental ensembles. We’re blessed to have a church filled with beautiful music!

UMCW again marched in Relay for Life this year, as the “Methodist Marchers” were out in force at the Westford Academy Track, the weekend of June 12/13.

Over 30 UMCW youth and adults again traveled to Maine this summer on the annual mission trip, helping to repair housing and church facilities for families in need.

Many members from UMCW participated in the summer 2009 Vacation Bible School the week of July 6, with adult and youth volunteers leading hundreds of kids in a wide range range of fun and fellowship activities.

Over 100 players and fans participated in the Second Annual UMCW March Madness basketball tournament on  March 28.  Over $1,100 was raised to help fund our Youth Group’s summer mission trip to help families in need in rural Maine.

On December 6 our church was filled with wonderful music and stories from ancient holiday and Christmas tradition, courtesy of Nowell Sing We Clear.
