The Prayer Vigil will run continuously from the end of the Maundy Thursday Service on March 29th (approximately 8:30 pm) until 7:30 pm on Good Friday, March 30th. This year we are hoping that the men will help cover the midnight to 5 am slots. Our goal is to have at least one person praying in the church sanctuary continuously for that time. A signup sheet will be provided for people to sign up at half-hour intervals to pray in the church. Last year several people forgot to pray at their designated time. Please mark your calendar so that the chain will not be broken. You will be sent a reminder via email several days before the vigil begins. Those who are unable to pray in the sanctuary are urged to join the Prayer Vigil by praying whenever and wherever they can over that time period. As a people of God, we have much for which to pray. Many have found that praying alone in our church for a half hour can be a powerful, enriching and moving experience. Please join in support of this important ministry. Thank you for your help. You may sign-up via email to Kathy Wilson.
Prayer Request forms are available at the table at the back of the church. All who wish may submit a request for prayers of concern or celebration for a person or for some issue that is important to them. The prayer requests will be made available to those praying at the church. Devotional materials will also be made available at the church for those praying there.
In order to leave a visible symbol of each person’s presence for prayer in the church sanctuary, we are asking everyone who comes to the church to pray to bring one item of food to be placed in the food collection basket at the front of the church. These items will then be distributed to the Westford and Lowell Food Pantries.
