Sunday Worship Gatherings
Worship Service - 9:30 AM

Please join us on Sundays at 9:30 AM to experience a welcoming, prayerful atmosphere and inspiring messages, enhanced by a vibrant music ministry. Our Adult Choir and organist perform traditional hymns and anthems most weeks, plus you may also enjoy the variety provided by the Youth Choir, Bell Choir and Contemporary Praise Band on a regular basis.

During the service, we offer a Christian education program for school-aged children that begins at approximately 9:50 AM, following the pastor’s personal message to them. GIFT Kids is our summer Sunday school program for children (and grandchildren), age 4 through 4th grade meeting each Sunday through August 27. Children will be dismissed after the children’s message, guided by an adult leader at the back of the sanctuary. GIFT Kids (Growing In Faith Together) will provide a space for your child to enjoy a Bible story and activities with friends while you worship. The class is open to both church families and visitors. Whether you are in town one Sunday, or every Sunday, we hope your child will be involved!

Every Sunday, the Babies Nest offers safe, reliable childcare for children age 3 years and under.

Frequently Asked Questions

How would you describe the style of worship?

On Sunday mornings we recognize that there are many ways that God speaks to us to through worship and the sacraments. At The United Methodist Church of Westford, we have found a way that touches all the senses in visual, audible and emotional levels.

We have our choirs and praise band, youth and adult, children and seniors, all finding a common ground for lifting up God’s name and growing closer to the mighty Creator.

We take advantage of our projection system to add to the understanding of our lesson and to highlight the activities of the church. Rev. Cann designs most services and chooses the hymns. He is committed to bringing the message of the Gospel to this community of faith.

Our Sunday worship offers a spiritual, welcoming and non-judgmental environment. And since we’re a relatively small church (average weekly attendance is approximately 175), there are many familiar faces, but we embrace new visitors and know you will feel at home.

What are the sermons like? ▼

Sermons are insightful and refreshing interpretations of Holy Scripture and serve to enable us to apply the great truths to today's life.

What type of music is involved? ▼

Our various music groups are committed to bringing the best in music that includes the entire range of Christian music from centuries ago to the latest arrangements of Christian rock music. It’s not unusual to hear the hymns of Wesley, Bach, Michael W. Smith and the music from Godspell.

What’s available for the kids on Sunday?

Children of all ages are always welcome to stay in the worship service, they are the most important part of our community and they minister to us. They are also welcome to receive Holy Communion with their families. We offer Sunday School during part of worship for all ages following a brief Children’s Message by the Pastor.

Tell me about the role of prayer? ▼

Prayer plays a vital role in our worship service, from opportunities to speak traditional ones such as the Lord’s Prayer aloud together, to a special Sharing of Concerns and Celebrations, during which requests for prayers for the struggles and joys of individuals from within the church and around the world, are offered up to God.

How does communion work? ▼

We celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion during the first Sunday of every month. Ours is an “open table”: all are welcome to partake, without exception.

Is there a dress code? ▼

No. Please “come as you are”.
